Fibers Junior Year

I like the way peacocks look. I think their feathers are so unique and i love the color of them. But other than that, i hate birds.
Again with the peacocks.  I like the contrast between the warm background and the cool peacock.
This is one of my favorite collages. It is random, like me.  Here i found a peacock feather to use and i have been in love with peacocks ever since.
I have never spent so much time on a piece of art in my life! this piece is based off of the song "Across the Universe" by the Beatles. Each section represents different lyrics of the song. the glass eyes, i love. i learned a technique called "tape transfer" where you put clear tape over a picture from a magazine, rub it on tightly, then run the tape under hot water.  the paper comes off, but the ink stays on.  I used this technique to put a whole bunch of eyes onto the broken glass.
I love indians. I used to pretend i was an Indian whenever i played in the creek behind my backyard.  I even made several plates and eating utensils out of the "clay" i found.

Just For Fun.

I made these for my friend Mackenzie on her 16th birthday. We love the pool.
Also for Mackenzie.  We always have fun together, even if we're doing nothing at all.
We LOVE smoothies! Mackenzie and i love to make food together, especially when they are our own special creations.
Its a picture i found in Marie Claire and it was my first time making a picture out of colored pencils since... probably 7th grade.
i made this collage out of magazines.  Once again, we love the pool.
In 6th grade, Mackenzie, Diane-Jo Bart-Plange, Leslie Coons and i were the Spice Girls. We loved dressing up as them. I was Posh Spice, Diane-Scary Spice, Leslie-Baby Spice, and Mackenzie as Ginger Spice. Sporty Spice could never come.
Okay, so i made this in second grade. But i love it because it shows my love for Mizzou and hatred for KU.
I made this for my friend Lauren on her Birthday. She really likes bright, neon colors so i figured this would be perfect for her.

Painting sophomore year

When we had to make a collage with watercolor, i was drawn to the color purple.
We had to make a still life... i chose the cowprint in the background because it reminded me of my dog Zipper, who was a black and white miniature dachshund.
We took a field trip to the Plaza and i really liked this tree. Some hobo came up to me while i was painting and said, "well that sure is PURTY." it was nice of him.
This was also a painting i did at the plaza.  I wouldnt have chosen to paint this scene originally, but we were forced to paint at least one architecture painting. i dont really like it.
When we did our landscape acrylic painting, i knew immediately that i wanted to do a picture of lightning because i love playing in the rain, even when there is thunder and lightning outside.
We had to paint an object that was reflective. i didnt even know what this was when i painted it, then i learned it was a shot shaker and now i think its really cool.
We had to do a monochromatic painting. I found this picture in Marie Claire and i liked how the girl seemed carefree. I wish i was better at drawing, because the face looks weird.  But other than that, i really like this painting because of the different values from just one color.
I really like music from the 60s and 70s, so i chose to do a still life with some of my dad's old records plus a piano book of mine.
this was a self-portrait we had to do, using a grid with different values.I like this painting because it is fun, like me.

Design and Draw

Well, the Lion Scratchboard is definitely my favorite.

artist trading cards from fibers

In fibers, we had to make an artist trading card every week.  My theme? Love. very cliche, i know. but i think they are cute.
